Saturday 07:15-11:00 and 11:45-15:30
Mid-week 08:00-10:00 and 12:00-17:00

However priority outside these times must be given to Medal competitors.

Men's Conditions of Play

  1. The General Rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club shall apply, with the addition of the local rules of the club
  2. Entry fees for all competitions must be paid before starting to play. All sweepstakes are voluntary
  3. Handicaps: The limit allowance shall be 18 (in certain named competitions the limit rises to 28). The rules of the new handicapping scheme apply
  4. The only competition starting tee is the 1st, apart from social shot gun start competitions
  5. Competition regulations and starting times will be promulgated in the clubhouse and the Pro's shop
  6. Thursday play rule: On Ladies competition days, men's 3-balls and 4-balls may not play before 11:30 hours unless a time sheet indicates otherwise. No restriction exists after this time, but priority on the course MUST be given to lady competitors
  7. In all stroke play competitions ties shall be decided on the last 18, 9, 6 or 3 holes
  8. In competitions governed by starting times, competitors must strictly adhere to the order of play
  9. Players taking part in competitions have preference over non-competitors
  10. The white markers define the tees reserved for competitions and Club matches. The yellow tee markers should be used otherwise

Mixed Conditions of Play

The mixed conditions of play are the same as the Men's Conditions of Play with the addition:

  1. Handicaps: When competing against men, the maximum stroke allowance for Ladies shall be 30 strokes
  2. Ladies shall play off the red tee markers
  3. In match play and stableford competitions strokes shall be taken off the men's stroke index

Juniors' Conditions of Play

  1. Junior Boys may enter the following competitions if they are 18 years of age and over, and have a handicap of 18 or under:
  2. Junior Girls who have a handicap of 18 or under may enter for the Guy Harvey, Ethel Hughes, Wilson Bowl and Challenge Cup competitions
  3. Category 1 Juniors Boys may enter any competition
  4. Junior Boys under 18 years may enter Medals and the Clubbe-Walker foursomes providing they are accompanied by an adult member, and they have a handicap of 18 or under
  5. Junior Boys who qualify for Monthly Medal entry may also play in the Two's competition and the Guy Harvey Trophy
  6. Junior Boys may enter the Scratch competitions if their handicaps are within the qualifying standard
